Inhaber von Domainnamen oder Marken in der Schweiz erhalten in letzter Zeit häufig E-Mails von angeblichen Registraren aus China.
In diesen englischsprachigen E-Mails wird behauptet, Dritte würden versuchen, gleiche oder gleichartige asiatische Domainnamen zu registrieren, und man bitte um eine entsprechende Bestätigung. Es handelt sich um eine Betrugsmasche.
Reagiert man auf solche E-Mails, folgt üblicherweise ein Angebot zur eigenen Registrierung dieser Domainnamen als Schutz gegen die behaupteten Dritten – unnötigerweise und zu überhöhten Preisen, das heisst es handelt sich um einen Domainnamen-Schwindel.
Betrügische E-Mails dieser Art sollte man ignorieren. Man sollte solche E-Mails weder beantworten noch den darin enthaltenen Weblinks folgen. Wer tatsächlich asiatische Domainnamen registrieren möchte, kann solche Registrierungen ohne teuren Umweg über chinesische Betrüger vornehmen und auf legitime Registrare zurückgreifen.

Hintergrund
Dieser Domainnamen-Schwindel beruht darauf, dass es tatsächlich immer wieder Trittbrettfahrer gibt, die für bestehende schweizerische Domainnamen oder Marken asiatische Domainnamen registrieren, um Rufausbeutung betreiben zu können.
Domainnamen-Registrare prüfen aber vor der Registrierung von neuen Domainnamen nicht, ob ein Konflikt mit einem registrierten Kennzeichen in der Schweiz bestehen könnte und versenden deshalb auch keine entsprechenden E-Mails. Bei solchen Trittbrettfahrern ist ein rechtliches Vorgehen deshalb erst nach erfolgter (und entdeckter) Domainnamen-Registrierung möglich.
Ziel der betrügerischen E-Mails aus China ist, dass die Empfänger asiatische Domainnamen zu überhöhten Preisen registrieren, weil sie ihre bestehenden schweizerischen Domainnamen oder Marken schützen möchten.
Mit kurzen Fristen von meist sieben Werktagen sowie dem Hinweis, ohne Rückmeldung erfolge die behauptete Registrierung durch Dritte definitiv, werden die Empfänger in der Schweiz unter Druck gesetzt. Solche E-Mails werden millionenfach versendet und sorgen bei vielen Empfängern zumindest für Verunsicherung. Überraschend ist dabei, dass solche E-Mails bislang ausschliesslich auf Englisch versendet werden.
Betrügerische E-Mails dieser Art sollte man wie erwähnt ignorieren. Inhaber von Domainnamen oder Marken, die tatsächlich asiatische Domainnamen registrieren möchten, können ohne weiteres auf legitime Registrare zurückgreifen.

Bei mir genau die selben Namen im Spiel. Habe spaßeshalber auf die erste Email von Frank Liu geantwortet und exakt 12 Stunden später kam eine Email von Zhihai Ning zur Kenntnisnahme, dass die angegebene Firma (Großkonzern aus China) die Namen, entgegen der Empfehlung von Frank Liu, nun registrieren würde. Sollte sich noch etwas tun kommentiere ich es hier wieder.
Jim Bin ist nach wie vor aktiv, was doch verwundert, da es sich bei uns um eine NGO handelt, die sich um den geordneten Atomausstieg in der Schweiz kümmert. Es wäre ja ganz angenehm, würden diese Anliegen auch in China vertreten. Jim Bin versendet Mails unter folgender Adresse:

Danke für diesen hilfreichen Beitrag, der Trick ist für Laien nicht erkennbar und der Text der Mail wirkt seriös. Fast wäre ich drauf hereingefallen. Zu dieser erhellenden Webseite habe ich gefunden, weil ich sicherheitshalber nach der von «meinem» Liu genannten Website «www.chinaregistry.org.cn» gegoogelt habe.

Mein Liu heißt Robert (gleiche Nummer). aber das entspricht wohl der ordentlichen Übersetzung, sitzen wir doch in Deutschland.

Natürlich kann man etwas stutzig werden, wenn aus China die Mail kommt, man möge doch seine deutschsprachige Domain in China reservieren 🙂

Mein Liu heisst Albert… Es schien mir tatsächlich seriös, so höflich und sorgfältig, wie da geschrieben wurde… Der grösste Witz ist, dass unsere Website schul-hof heisst, ein Name, der unter Garantie keinem Menschen chinesischer Sprache etwas sagt, und in unserer Schreibweise sowieso bisher nicht existent war, also unsere Erfindung ist. Sie sollten versuchen, den oder die Domainnamen zu kündigen. (Oder zu übertragen, wenn Sie Bedarf haben.) Der erste Schritt wäre zu prüfen, inwiefern eine Kündigung oder Übertragung möglich ist. Sie könnten auch in Erwägung ziehen, künftige Zahlungen nicht zu leisten in der Erwartung, dass ein Inkasso unwahrscheinlich ist.
